Hello Parents!!
We are so excited its August and BAND CAMP is here!!
We have some VERY IMPORTANT housekeeping items we wanted to review with you.
1. The Drum Majors and Captains use the MARCHING BAND Facebook/Facebook Messenger group to communicate. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that your child joins this private group – there are no adults and the Drum Majors approve all group members. it is USED ONLY FOR Marching Band. We recognize we have younger kids this year with 8th graders joining us for the first time. However, we can ensure you this is a SAFE space for them and IMPORTANT so that the STUDENT LEADERS can get out the word.
2. ALL QUESTIONS about Bandcamp, captain led practices, etc. should be directed to EITHER – Dr. GAGE (dgage@glenridge.org) or the DRUM MAJORS (your children should have their emails – and can ask these questions via FACEBOOK/FACEBOOK Messenger). Sarah and I (nor other parents who may be involved) do not have all of the details you may be asking for (or in some cases, even have incorrect info! – YIKES). We encourage you to have your STUDENT reach out to either Dr. GAGE or the DRUM MAJORS directly.
3. We are looking at prop building dates August 20/21 and August 27/28. Other dates will be added as necessary. This is another great way to meet parents and if you can spend an hour or a day with us we would love to have you! Even stop by for a cup of coffee and see what’s going on – you’ll be too excited to not lend a hand we can promise you! We will send out times/place next week.
4. We will be holding our first Parent meeting on Wednesday August 31 in the GRHS Cafeteria – this will be directed toward the MARCHING BAND Season specifically. It will be a bit of a social as well as informative meeting and encourage you to attend – you will meet other parents and gain VALUABLE information.
